AgriSea, an award-winning company, has received numerous accolades for its innovative research and collaborations in the hi-tech and primary industries. Its hydrogel project with Scion has garnered prestigious awards, including the 2021 Science New Zealand Awards, the 2022 KuDos Awards, and the 2022 Hi-Tech Māori Company of the Year Award, recognizing its excellence in sustainable technology and Māori innovation.

Ashna, who has a PhD in Organic Chemistry with six years of Agritech experience, is passionate about research with commercial and environmental impact.

Stefan J. Hill

Stefan is on the Analytical Chemistry team and is Scion's Porfolio Leader for High-Value Biorefineries.

Marie-Joo Le Guen

Marie-Joo Le Guen

Marie is a member of the Materials team and is Scion's Research Group Leader for Materials, Engineering, and Manufacturing.

Sean-Taylor

Sean Taylor

Sean is a technologist for the Biomaterials, Engineering and Manufacturing research team at Scion (New Zealand Forestry Research Institute).

Robert Whitton

Robert Whitton

Rob leads the plant design team and is Scion's Team Lead for Additive Manufacturing and Emerging technologies.

Janet Reid

Janet Reid

University of Auckland Masters of Bioscience Enterprise graduate Janet Reid contious her work on applications for seaweed nanocellulose that were developed through the collaboration between Scion and AgriSea. Now working with the University of Otago.
